Dear Friends of the World Food System Center:

Since 2011, we at the World Food System Center have aimed to provide real-world solutions to the challenge of feeding the world in a way that ensures human health, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. Throughout the initial phase of operations (2011-2015) as well as the now concluded second phase (2016-2020), the Center established itself as an important platform for vital exchange and a supporter of solution-oriented research and innovations.

It has been a great privilege and joy for us to work closely together with our members and partners over the last years. As we move into the next phase until 2024, we count on their continuous support and look forward to collaborating across disciplines and sectors to address the ever pressing global challenge of ensuring food and nutrition security and to pursue our long-term vision of a healthy world through sustainable food systems.

Kind regards,
Martijn Sonnevelt and the entire team of the World Food System Center
Phase II Report
Phase II Report
This report provides a brief overview of the activities of the World Food System Center during the last five years. This period was marked by growth, and the Center now brings together 46 member groups, containing around 1000 scientists contributing to making global food systems more sustainable. We look back with joy and satisfaction on how we managed to integrate research, education, and outreach throughout these past five years, and we hope you enjoy the read.
