Liebe Dozierende, liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen
In dieser Sonderausgabe des Newsletters möchte ich Sie über das Projekt «Prüfungen und Akademischer Kalender an der ETH Zürich» (PAKETH) informieren, mit welchem wir uns am Lehr-Retreat vom 7. & 8. Juni 2023 befasst haben.
Das Prüfungswesen an der ETH ist komplex, der akademische Kalender sehr dicht. PAKETH soll der Lehre wieder mehr Entwicklungsspielraum und den Studierenden mehr Luft verschaffen, damit unsere Ausbildung auch langfristig hervorragend bleibt. Es ist mir deshalb ein grosses Anliegen, Sie als Dozierende und Verantwortliche für die Lehre so früh wie möglich über dieses Projekt in Kenntnis zu setzen, über Hintergründe zu informieren und um Ihre Unterstützung zu werben.
In meiner Videobotschaft lege ich Ihnen unsere Überlegungen bezüglich Handlungsbedarf und anvisierter Stossrichtung dar.
In der Dokumentation der Ergebnisse des Lehr-Retreats finden Sie eine Übersicht über das Projekt PAKETH sowie die Richtungsentscheide, die aus dem Lehr-Retreat hervorgegangen sind, und an denen wir das weitere Projekt ausrichten wollen.

Dear lecturers, dear colleagues
In this special edition of the newsletter, I would like to inform you about the ”Examinations and Academic Calendar at ETH Zurich” (PAKETH) project, which we talked about at the Teaching Retreat on 7/8 June 2023.
The examination system at ETH is complex; the academic calendar is very dense. PAKETH is designed to give our teaching operations more scope for development again and our students more breathing space so as to ensure that the education we provide remains excellent over the long term. Consequently it is very important for me to inform you as lecturers and staff responsible for teaching about this project as early as possible, to supply you with background information and to request your support.
In my video message, I explain our considerations with regard to the need for action and the direction in which we want to go.
The documentation of the results of the Teaching Retreat provides you with an overview of the PAKETH project as well as the directional decisions that emerged from the retreat and on which we want to base the project in the future.
