D-HEST Header Research Day

HEST.PULSE (02/2023)
Dear all at D-HEST

It is with great pleasure that I take the opportunity to share some D-HEST highlights with you in this new issue of HEST.PULSE.

The autumn semester started just a few weeks ago. Across all our three study programs (Food Science, Health Sciences and Technology, and Human Medicine), a total of 350 new students took up their studies at D-HEST on September 18th. Welcome!

A special highlight this summer was the move to the new GLC building which, after a long delay, has finally become the home to 11 D-HEST professorships. The department celebrated the move by organizing the 6th D-HEST Research Day on September 7th in the newly commissioned building. The event, dedicated to our own research presented by doctoral students and postdocs in speed presentations and lab tours, was attended by about 300 participants who enjoyed exchanging ideas, learning about each other’s research, and chatting in a relaxed atmosphere.

Other highlights of this newsletter include the new D-HEST video, the proud announcement of promotions and awards, and news about research and teaching.

I hope you will enjoy reading HEST.PULSE!

Kind regards,
Laura Nyström
Head of the Department of Health Sciences and Technology
