Cook the Science
Cook the Science - Science Meets the Culinary Arts
Starting October 2024 ETH Zurich and Life Science Zurich are launching "Cook the Science", a brand new public lecture series on the science of cooking. The events will begin with a scientific introduction to the evening's topic, followed by a live cooking demonstration. Renowned chefs, together with ETH expertise, will decode the fascinating science behind each recipe for the audience in an understandable way.

"Cook the Science" is led by Prof. Dr. Thomas Michaels, Assistant Professor of Soft and Living Matter Physics at ETH Zurich, together with Life Science Zurich. With "Cook the Science" we want to bring the public and science together in a fun and entertaining way, show that learning can be an experience and demonstrate that science is everywhere in our daily cooking. We want to share our enthusiasm for science with as many different people as possible.

Join us for the 2024 "Cook the Science" lecture series:
 Tuesday, 22 October, 18:00-19:15
"Heat transfer: Charring, browning and flavour"
with Rebecca Clopath, Alpine Natural Chef Biohof Taratsch
 Tuesday, 12 November, 18:00-19:15
