NanoMRI Measurements of Dynamic Nuclear Polarization Using Trityl Radicals

Raffi Budakian –  Institute for Quantum Computing, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Waterloo, Canada

In this talk, I will describe recent dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) measurements using a nanoscale force-detected magnetic resonance detection platform in samples containing trityl radicals dissolved in various sugars. I will discuss some of the unique aspects of the nanoscale environment in our studies, as compared to bulk studies, that enable us to achieve large 1H spin enhancements exceeding 100 at 6 K. I will conclude with some thoughts on future experiments for 3D Fourier imaging of single electron spins with nanometer resolution.
